Week of 2/22

It can be hard to stay organized, especially if you're at home doing your homework and classwork virtually. Here are some tips for you to be organized and more successful in school:

1. Get In a good routine: Even if you're going to continue school remotely make sure to wake up at the same time and follow the same routine you would if you were going to school (get dressed, brush teeth).
2. Set rules for yourself:
Setting rules for yourself can help you understand what you need to complete each day and not feel rushed to complete an assignment. Some rules you could make to keep yourself on track might be:·      Complete all projects two days before the due date.
·      Start studying for tests one week in advance.
3. Write everything down: Write down everything — homework assignments, test dates, essay topics and even little details like how to turn in your paper. That way, you don't have to remember it, and you can use your writing as a way to double-check what you need to complete. It's important to write things down, even if you are doing your work virtually.
4. Don't multitask:
Multitasking seems like it would be beneficial because you could get more done in less time. However, studies show multitaskers spend 50 percent more time trying to accomplish a task.Focus on one assignment at a time, and only turn your attention to the next task when you've completed the first. Also, GET RID OF DISTRACTIONS like phones. If you need to put your phone In a drawer or another room to focus...DO IT!
5. Use a planner:
A planner can be one of the most useful tools for organizing your school work because you can visually see everything on your schedule.  Write down all homework, projects and test due dates with one color and other obligations with another. This way, you can remember everything you need to do. When you get to class, put your planner on your desk so that you can immediately write down anything the teacher mentions.

Below is a video that explains some other habits of highly organized people that will help you be successful in school and other areas of life. As always, if you need anything else, please let me know!
