Hello Henry Families!
Welcome to the new school year! Even though we will learning remotely again, we are going to have a lot of fun in "virtual art class!" This year the Specials schedule is different than years in the past! Students will have 1 specials class for the entire 1st quarter! That means art everyday for 5 classes: K-112, 2-108, 4-101, 5-201, 8-306. To stay up-to-date with ART INFO please sign up for your class' REMIND! Remind is an app or a text feature that allows direct communication, and offers a translation tool! To find instructions to sign up, click on your grade level button above. I'm excited to see everyone-- even if it's just on the computer screen! Ms. Leslie Henry Artists and Families,
Summer break is almost here! I would like to thank you for all your hard work during remote learning! I know it was not easy to keep up with each subject at home, but we did it! If you are looking for something to do this summer, consider trying out a family art project! Here is a list of fun projects to explore, some messy and some neat. I hope you enjoy your much deserved time off from school! Stay safe & creative, Ms. Leslie Make Up WEEK! Catch up on any missing assignments / Póngase al día con las tareas que faltan.5/18/2020
This week grades are due for progress reports. No new ART projects will be assigned this week to allow students time to complete any missing assignments from previous weeks! If you have any questions or problems while completing your art assignments send me an email @ rleslie@cps.edu and we can figure it out together!
PreK and Kindergarten art can be found in the button above. All other grades, your assignments are on Google Classroom. Thank you to all the Henry families for continuing art education at home! Here is a highlight of Henry artists creating at home! Want to be featured next week? Send Ms. Leslie a picture of your artist working on Remind! Hello PreK and Kindergarten families,
Instead of using Google classroom which requires a set-up email account for each student, I will be posting all learning materials on the PREK/K button above. When you click your button, it will bring you to a google folder. Each week I will upload a new project on Monday for Kindergarten and Wednesday for PreK! Hopefully this will be the easiest way to access information for the time being. Each week, email or remind message me a photo of your student's art. I can't wait to see what the kids create! Hello Henry Families!
Art Remote learning will take place in Google Classroom! By now, your student should have received an email invitation to join their ART google classroom. I will also post a doc with each homerooms "class code" to join, just in case I missed anyone. Students will need to log in with their CPS gmail login and password. If you do not know this information, send me an email at rleslie@cps.edu! I am happy to help. Google classroom is where students will access assignments, learning activities, and turn in their artwork. Each week, I will check-in with students on their originally scheduled "art day." Digital learning is much different than we are used to in art, but with patience and persistence I believe we will be successful! Next week, I will edit the buttons above with updated assignment information. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns! Stay well, Ms. Leslie Hello Henry Families,
Due to school closing, an art project packet was sent home with every PreK-6th grade student in attendance today, March 16th. 7th and 8th grade students will receive their work via email tonight. To access digital assignments, supplemental videos, and fun family projects click on your grade level button above! These projects are not graded and are optional, however, students are encouraged to keep up with school work during the next 2 weeks. This is a great opportunity to be creative and productive. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly @ rleslie@cps.edu. I will continue to post art inspiration for students and families over the next 2 weeks! |

Ms. Leslie is available via email everyday 8:30am-3:15pm @rleslie@cps.edu AuthorMy name is Ms. Leslie and I am your student’s art teacher! I studied Art Education and Ceramic art at Illinois State University. I am excited to begin my 4th year at Henry, and 7th year of teaching total! My goal is to create a strong foundation for creative thinking and making. I believe the results should not have more weight than the journey along the way. Some of the best ideas are created by taking risks and making mistakes! Archives
