Week of April 23, 2018

Principal's Message:

Greetings,

We hope you were able to enjoy the weekend though it was a bit chilly. The weather will be similar all week so the students should be able to go to recess unless it’s raining. The fresh air and running around really helps release the excess energy. Many classrooms already implement a routine in the classroom  to calm students after lunch and recess to refocus.

On Tuesday, April 24th, the Chief of Network One and her team will be here after 11:00 a.m. for the rest of the day. The team is here to discuss Literacy school improvement and our transition plans for 7th and 8th grade.

Thank you to all of our parents for attending Parent Teacher Conferences. Please let us know if you have any concerns or questions regarding your child's progress.

As you may have heard, the school budgets were made available to schools. We are currently in the process of preparing the budget and the CIWP to present to the school community and the LSC  for approval. Then it will be sent to the Network Chief and the District for final approval. We highly encourage everyone to attend the presentation so they you know how the budget will be allocated for next school year. Thank you to those of you that have taken advantage of the opportunities to be engaged in the CIWP process this cycle.   Our LSC meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 4:30 p.m. in the teachers' lounge.

We may sound like a broken record by now but thank you for continued efforts in attendance. Thank you for doing your part to get your students to school every day.

Updates for this week:

Teacher Flex PD:  Wednesday, April 26th 3:30-4:30:  Focus Topic ~ CIWP (No After School)

Student Emails:  ITS is excited to announce that a new password self service feature will be available for students in grades 4-12 starting on April 23, 2018.  This enhancement will give CPS students the same flexibility as staff by allowing them to reset their own password using three challenge questions.
