Dear Henry Families,
Hello and welcome to a new school year! I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Rebecca Gasser and this will be my fifth year working as a Diverse Learner Teacher here at Patrick Henry. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with your child this year! I graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education and have been teaching Diverse Learners in the Chicago area for the past 7 years. I am originally from the Kansas City area (Go Chiefs!), but I feel that I can now call Chicago home. In my free time, I enjoy spending hours exercising, watching TV and movies with my friends and family, cheering for the Indiana University basketball team and baking. I also love spending time with my dog, Eddie, traveling and reading. I will be providing services in your child’s general classroom or a separate classroom, focusing on reading, math, science, social-emotional and/or independent functioning skills. In our classrooms, we work incredibly hard to accomplish our academic goals while making learning as fun and engaging as possible. If you have any questions at all throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me. My email is rrgasser@cps.edu. I promise to respond within 48 hours to all emails. Also, feel free to send a note with your child to school to share with me. I am really looking forward to meeting you and working with your child! We are going to have a great year! ☺ Sincerely, Miss Gasser Rebecca Gasser Diverse Learner Teacher Patrick Henry Elementary School rrgasser@cps.edu Estimados familias de Henry, ¡Hola y bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar! Quisiera presentarme.
