Dear Patrick Henry Families,

Welcome Back!  We are excited to start another academically challenging,  enjoyable, and safe school year. At Patrick Henry School, it is our goal to maximize the learning potential of each and every child. We are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where all students are on the path  to be college and career ready and to pursue their dreams. We are able to achieve our goals through the support of the dynamic partnerships with students, parents, staff and community. Below are some updates and information that will help all of us start the year off on the right path to success.

School Hours - Our school hours for students are 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.  Universal Breakfast is served to students starting at 8:15 a.m.  As a safety precaution, do not drop your child off before 8:00 a.m., as there is no one on duty to supervise children prior to that time. Please have your children dressed in the school uniform which consists of blue pants, skirts or jumpers and plain white shirts.  Uniforms are to be worn every day.

Visitors - All visitors are required to report to the main office and sign-in for both buildings. It’s a safety precaution to ensure all children are safe and secure at all times of the day.

Attendance - Attendance is very important and we need your child present, on time, and ready to learn every day. If your child is absent make sure you send a written note the following day to his/her classroom teacher describing the reason for the absence. Please call the school if your child is going to be absent and provide written documentation in order to excuse the absence. The tardy bell is 8:20. All students coming into the school after 8:20 will be marked tardy.

Supply lists and School Fees- Please make sure your child brings their supplies to school this week. The school fee for this year will be $30. We will send another letter with directions for submitting the school fee. All the materials sent home this week contain valuable information that will help you understand all the rules and procedures for the new school year. Money will be collected by classroom teachers only and no money will be accepted by the main office.

Curriculum Night - Our ‘Curriculum Night’ will be held on Wednesday, September 12th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher(s) and to learn about our academic and enrichment programs. Further information, will be forthcoming in the next couple of days.

We would like to thank all the parents and guardians for their continued support. We certainly expect to continue our positive momentum as we strive to make Henry School one of the best neighborhood schools in Chicago.

Sincerely,

Juan Gutierrez -Principal

¡Bienvenidos!

Atentamente,

Juan Gutiérrez - Director
