I hope you enjoyed Veterans Day weekend. I’m sure none of us were expecting to see snow on the ground so soon. The chilly weather is definitely here to stay. This is the earliest date we are going to have Thanksgiving in a number of years. It’s hard to imagine it will be next week.
This upcoming week is an important one for all us because we get an opportunity to share with you how your child/children are progressing so far this year during Parent Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Teachers will communicate progress or status in the following 4 areas when conferencing with each of you.. 1. Attendance 2. Grades 3. Benchmark Scores 4. Student Goal Setting - Spring. We know how busy it gets once you start your conferences with parents so write these items on a visible location and/or make yourself a note to share the following information with each of your parents. Please remember to turn in the following to your classroom teacher:
Attendance is a huge factor in student performance. Teachers and administration will be reaching out to parents regarding attendance below 90%. We will be conducting our annual ‘State of the School Address’ on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend. The topics covered will be SQRP, school programs/initiatives and goals for the year. We will have refreshments! Also we will raffle off a $25 gift card to Target! Community Schools Initiative: We are looking for a parents to support our next phase of our after school programing to be a part of a committee to gather feedback from parents and our school community. We will have a committee that will be meeting after the Thanksgiving Break. Interested, please reach out to the main office or feel free to email Ms. Valente at dipadua.fkco23@gmail.com. Attendance: Our goal is to have no more than 20 students absent a day. This will help us be sure that we are above our 96% weekly goal. Students who are here everyday for the month of November will be able to join us for a staff against students Tug-of-War! Looking forward to seeing everyone during parent teacher conferences! ~Mr. Gutierrez, Ms. Reynolds & Ms. Abraham Dear Henry Families,
The end of the first quarter is today. We will be starting our emails blasts again to continue our communication efforts. Tomorrow, November 2, 2018 there is no school. Teachers will be planning during the day and continuing to work on our instructional practices to best support your child. Teachers either today or next week will be distributing the parent teacher conference appointment letters. Once they finalize the appointments, they will provide you with the time to meet with them during Parent Teacher Conferences on November 14th. We also hope everyone had a safe Halloween yesterday. Have a great weekend and we wish everyone a great start to the 2nd Quarter. Mr. Juan Gutierrez, Principal Ms. Mary Ann Reynolds, Assistant Principal Ms. Lora Abraham, Instructional A.P. |
