We are looking to start a volunteering program here at Henry to support our recess. Interested Volunteers would be able to commit 1-2 days a week each and every week during one of the time slots below. We believe that having a consistent volunteer will also help with our recess program’s success as well. Please note: You may not necessarily volunteer during your child's recess time. There are two levels of Volunteers. Please sign up at www.cpsvolunteers.org Level 1: More than 10 hours a week. Photo ID, Fingerprints and TB Testing must be completed Level 2: Less than 10 hours a week. Photo ID If you are interested, please contact Assistant Principal Ms. Mary Ann Reynolds at mamunozmaciel@cps.edu. We are looking to start as soon as individuals are cleared within the CPS volunteer process. Again, we are looking for volunteers that can commit 1-2 days per week each week at the selected time. Thank you in advance for your support and consideration. Welcome Back! We are super excited to start another academic challenging, productive and safe school year. This year will be extra special year because we will be celebrating our first 8th grade graduation class in a very long time. At Patrick Henry School, it is our goal to maximize the learning potential of each and every child. We are refocusing our efforts to ensure we provide each child with a safe and nurturing environment where each child is on the right path to success in the future. We will be able to achieve our goals through the collective effort and support of all the students, parents, staff and our community members. School Hours - Our school hours for students are 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Universal Breakfast is served to students starting at 8:15 a.m. As a safety precaution, do not drop your child off before 8:00 a.m., as there is no one on duty to supervise children prior to that time. All students in k-8 must wear their school uniform each day. The school uniform consists of blue bottoms (pants, skirts or jumpers) and burgundy tops (shirts, blouses, or hoodie). Uniforms are to be worn every day! Visitors - All visitors are required to report to the main office and sign-in before visiting any classroom in both buildings. It’s a safety precaution to ensure all children are safe and secure at all times of the day. Attendance - Attendance is very important and we need your child present, on time, and ready to learn every day. If your child is absent make sure you send a written note the following day to his/her classroom teacher describing the reason for the absence. Please call the school if your child is going to be absent and provide written documentation in order to excuse the absence. The tardy bell is 8:20. All students coming into the school after 8:20 will be marked tardy. Middle School - Students in grades 5 thru 8 were provided with a parent and student handbook. Please review the handbook and return the signature page by August 6th? Supply lists - Please make sure your child brings their supplies to school this week. Please ask the homeroom teacher for a list if you have not received one or need another copy. School Fees - The school fee for this year will continue to be $30. The school fee is very minimal compared to other schools in Network 1. The school fee collected is used to pay for student incentives for our PBIS program, student celebrations, awards assemblies, student agendas, field trips and other events planned throughout the year. Money will be collected by classroom teachers only. No money will be accepted by the main office to avoid any confusion. Curriculum Night - Our ‘Curriculum Night’ will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher(s) and to learn about our academic and enrichment programs. Further information will be forthcoming before the event. We would like to thank all the parents and guardians for their continued support.
